OPT (Optional Practical Training)
Twelve months of F-1 work authorization in your field β filed on deadlines that forgive nothing.
Overview
OPT gives F-1 students up to 12 months of work authorization in a job directly related to their degree, available pre- or post-completion. The filing windows are strict, unemployment limits apply, and every job must be reported. We time the application, document the degree-job relationship, and connect OPT to the STEM extension and H-1B cap calendar.
