The O-1B serves artists, musicians, directors, and performers who can demonstrate distinction — a high level of achievement substantially above the ordinary. For motion picture and television work, the standard is higher: a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement.
Who May Qualify
- Distinction in the arts, or extraordinary achievement for MPTV
- At least 3 qualifying criteria: leading roles, press, recognition, commercial success, high salary
- Advisory opinions from the appropriate unions and management organizations
